Ralph Baer (who created the first home video game, the Odyssey 1000, using analog electronics) created a camera that could digitize photos. He sold the invention to Bally Midway in 1982, and they designed a game using it to take snaps of players for the high score table.
They nixed it when they put the game out on test, and someone whipped their "unit" out for the photo. And yes, they used the camera to take the pics of the members of Journey for this game (and the designers, if you can figure out the easter egg in the game!).
