The boards used for Quartet and Quartet 2 are the same, with the only difference being 7 of the PROMs used (these determine the game wiring and how many simultanous players can play at once).

Comment: "I saw this game at a pizza place here in california with two other kids that I used to buddy around with at that time and we were like adicts! every quarter we had would go into that game! One day we walked in the pizza place to foind out that the game was gone!!!Ever since then I never saw the game again! That was around 86/87 and I think they should put the actual arcade version of this game on xbox as well as the other game sets!!!! one of the best games I ever played during my childhood!" If you've ever heard Space Harrier's "Welcome to the Fantasy Zone, GET READY!" then you know what I'm talking about. The music is so catchy I still find myself humming it almost 20 years later. Beware though...it is a quarter muncher as it has no ending, the maps constantly change and regenerate." (2004-01-27 15:14:01Z)

The high level of challenge scared away many people due to the high $ loss from continuing constantly. Some cool power-ups for the time period - one of Sega's best." (2004-01-18 15:37:13Z)
