Game Summary

A laserdisc game that reached the arcade shortly after Dragon's Lair.

Hardware Platform: -Unique or Unknown-

Game Details

The animation was purely Japanese in style. Gameplay was more complicated than Dragon's Lair, utilizing a combination of a 4 way joystick and hands and feet buttons. More difficult patterns had to be mastered in order to complete Cliff Hanger. This machine utilized a Pioneer 8210 laserplayer and double boardset.

by hvymtl. Comment: "This was one of the best games of 1984. I used to go to the local coin-op and play and play and play. Although I could never get passed a certain area ($#%%^ load of ninjas), the game would draw me in for hours. About 3000 quarters later as well...Gosh, I miss ya..." (2004-02-23 17:29:03Z)

by Balto6051. Comment: "I remember playing this back in the 80's, and enjoying the neat anime action! I never could conquer Dragon's Lair or Space Ace, but I managed to beat Cliff Hanger...I just HAD to see how it ended! Years later, I discovered the Lupin III movie "Castle of Cagliostro" on video, which was the main source for the animated sequences :)" (2003-08-28 07:22:29Z)
